The W. R. Swann group of companies is pleased to announce that it has been awarded ISO 50001 certification for its energy management systems.
The International Organization for Standardizationâ€™s (ISO) 50001 certification supports organisations in all sectors to use energy more efficiently. It provides a framework of requirements for companies, such as developing an energy efficiency policy, measuring the performance of energy-efficient systems and planning continual energy management strategies.
The ISO 50001 certificate is available to download in the accreditations section of the website.
The CREST (Cancer Research Excellence in Surgical Trials) Award is one part of an initiative to increase the engagement of surgeons in the NCRI and NIHR CRN: Cancer, to increase the number of surgical trials and to increase the percentage of patients with newly diagnosed tumours who are approached about entering clinical trials.The initiative also seeks to influence cancer research funders and surgical trainees.
Following the implementation of the EU Directive on the prevention from Sharp Injuries in the Hospital and Healthcare Sector (2010/32/EU) into UK law, Swann-Morton continue to offer in house training on good practice when fitting, handling and disposing of surgical blades and scalpels in the workplace.

Swann-Morton recently participated at the 7th European Operating Room Nurses Congress held in the beautiful eternal city of Rome, Italy, from 7 - 10 May 2015. The event proved to be another exciting educational, networking, social and cultural experience for one and all.
Swann-Morton recently participated at the annual Association of Surgeons in Training conference held this year at SECC in Glasgow. Sales & Marketing Director, Chris Taylor and Customer Support Manager, Adrian Glossop, were invited to present the coveted Silver Scalpel Award at the Gala Charity Dinner held at the iconic Glasgow Science Center.
