On the 8th November, Sales and Marketing Director, Chris Taylor, had the pleasure of presenting the 2012 Swann-Morton ODP Award for academic achievement to Louise Warren.
Louise Warren, who completed the Diploma of Higher Education in Operating Department Practice in September 2012, has been honoured with the prestigious Swann- Morton award for academic excellence. The award, which is presented annually, is one of only six awards of this type given worldwide by the company, indeed this the only ODP award sponsored by Swann Morton.
Swann-Morton will be launching their long awaited Post Mortem Disposable Scalpel Knife at the show and there will be two versions available with a choice of either the standard pointed PM40 blade or the rounded bull nose PM40B blade.
They will also be using the event to launch an extension to their Retractable Safety Scalpel range introducing the large size blades such as 20,21,22,23,24 and 25A in response to the EU Sharps Directive effective May 2013.
On Friday 27th July 2012, Swann-Morton celebrated their 80th birthday and to commemorate the occasion the present Managing Director, Richard Whiteley, was joined by staff to plant a young Oak Tree within the gardens of the Penn Works site.
As part of our 2012 website upgrade, new portal pages are now available for Surgeons, Vets, Dentists and Podiatrists.
Feedback from online research revealed a preference to access all relevant products, news, exhibitions and educational material in one dedicated section so we are delighted to launch this upgrade which we hope will make the process of browsing our product ranges easier for healthcare professionals.
The PM40 range with its traditional "Screw Fitting" heavy duty Stainless Steel handle and the PM60 range with a standard blade fitment both include bull nose blades for added safety and protection against accidental sharps injuries. A versatile and comprehensive range for Morticians and Pathologists for use in Autopsy, Histopathology and general Post Mortem procedures.
