BAPS 2019 Conference

14/08/2019

The British Association of Paediatric Surgeons recently held their 2019 conference in Nottingham which has become a forum for research and discussion for paediatric surgeons from over 70 countries worldwide. The delegate feedback is now been collated and reviewed by the Programme Committee who are planning to make Bruges 2020 even bigger and better. Swann-Morton participated at the Congress where the inaugural BAPS Swann-Morton Trainer of the Year was presented on behalf of the company by Greg Watson to Mr.Iain Yardley.

Life as a trainee is long and arduous but the trainees wanted to celebrate the Trainer that enhanced their lives and made a contribution to their education above and beyond the norm. BAPS thanked Swann-Morton for co-sponsoring the unique BAPS Swann-Morton Trainer of the Year trophy which this year was awarded to Mr Iain Yardley, himself a previous national trainee representative and now a Consultant Paediatric Surgeon at the Evelina Hospital in London. As a trainee, Mr Yardley worked part time as Clinical Advisor to both Sir Liam Donaldson, Chief Medical Officer for England and WHO Patient Safety between 2008 to 2010.
