ASiT Surgical Conference 2016

23/03/2016

Swann-Morton participated at the Association of Surgeons in Training 40th Anniversary conference held at the AAC in Liverpool during March. The focus of the event is still very much based around on-going training with a number of specialised workshops and breakout sessions running alongside the main lecture programme and sponsors exhibition.

The opening lecture "Opportunities and Challenges in Healthcare" was presented by Professor Sir Bruce Keogh , NHS England's Medical Director and professional lead for NHS Doctors. The lecture attracted particular attention from those supporting the action of Junior Doctors in response to the new contracts proposed by the Government which remained a hot topic for discussion throughout the whole conference.

Swann-Morton received a warm welcome from the attendees who praised them for keeping their manufacturing roots well and truly in the UK and for their continued focus on producing consistent quality blades and scalpels. They were also applauded for their support of the Silver scalpel Award presented at the Charity Gala Dinner this year held in the impressive Crypt Hall at Liverpool's Metropolitan Cathedral.
