Swann-Morton recently participated at the 7th European Operating Room Nurses Congress held in the beautiful eternal city of Rome, Italy, from 7 - 10 May 2015. The event proved to be another exciting educational, networking, social and cultural experience for one and all. The theme for this Congress was “The Art of Perioperative Care eternally evolving”. The Scientific Committee of the Congress had promised a diverse and interesting educational programme to inform and advance perioperative nursing knowledge. There were oral and poster presentations from many corners of the Perioperative world whilst Swann-Morton formed part of the medical devices and equipment exhibition featuring EORNA's partners in industry and keeping the members up to date with technology changes and product advice. The 1200 nurses in attendance travelled not only from Europe but as far afield as the USA, Middle East and Australia to ensure a busy and interesting Congress. Swann-Morton spoke to professional theatre nurses from over 31 countries about the training in Best Practice they offer in the UK to encourage compliance with the key elements of EU Sharps Directive. The range of training materials supported by a new range of HD films were very well received. The next EORNA Congress is scheduled for 2017 in Greece
